The Sante Health platform is the latest addition to numerous healthcare applications in Africa aimed at bridging the gap for people who cannot access healthcare services through mobile phone applications.
The platform will introduce additional services in January next year, such as Triage, a database that will provide patients with basic information about healthcare facilities and professionals.
By June next year, other services including Doc-Connect Services, myPHR and Supplies Manager will also be integrated ahead of Sante Health’s full launch the same month.
Triage will allow a user to find appropriate medical facilities and doctors, learn about specific diseases affecting their area as well as stay up to date with current health news, the company said.
Doc-Connect will enable patients and doctors to relay information between them thus ensuring private conversations.
“We are committed to expanding access to healthcare through our technology offerings and adapted supply chain to cater for remote areas," said Eddie Mwakutuya, Chief Executive at Sybay Health.
“Access to appropriate health information and the limited number of doctors still constitutes a great barrier and we believe our platform will go a long way in resolving the problem."
Earlier last month, a research by ReportLinker detailed the advancement of healthcare using technology. The report stated that this would clear the way for a completely new e-health industry worth billions of dollars.
