G|Uganda scheduled for this September

The Google family including developers will converge in Uganda’s capital Kampala during the second g|Uganda meeting that will bring online entrepreneurs together to explore “some Google tools.”

Google organizes such events in various African countries to help Google enthusiasts know more about the developments in store by the giant search engine company.

This will be the second round that Google is stopping over in Kampala. It is expected to have more on offer compared to last year as Google has embarked in introducing other products such as its social networking site Google+.

The Country Manager Google Uganda, Ham Namakajjo said, “ g|Uganda is coming back to Kampala, and we’re mixing things up in a big way, from hosting our guests at a truly original venue (an amusement park!) to two full days of fresh content for our business and developer audiences.”

The sessions for the conference are separated in two days. “Small business owners, entrepreneurs, marketers, publishers, and journalists will hear from Google experts from East Africa and across the world about how to get online, grow their businesses, and hone a digital strategy using Google tools,” Ham said.

The second day will include more developer related topics including, HTML5, Android platform, Google’s App Engine and Google+ APIs.

“New for this year will be special sessions for women in technology and an advanced track for more experienced coders looking to take their skills to the next level,” Ham said.

Registration for the event is ongoing.
