CompuLynx launches Cloud solutions for Kenya insurance companies

Kenya based innovative solutions company Compulynx has launched Cloud9, a cloud solution for insurance intermediaries that will enable companies to administer various insurance products, offer automated alerts on policies and generate tailor made reports.

Speaking during the launch, Sailesh Savani, Compulynx chief executive officer (CEO), said the company has imported all its software to a multi-tenancy cloud platform but recommended that clients should only migrate the master data into the cloud, not historical information.

“Customers are demanding access to critical business information when most needed, and such deliveries are best handled on the cloud platform”, said Savani.

Though the company focuses on various industry segments including retail, education, banking, finance, government and manufacturing Savani said that for the insurance market, improved business response time is critical where the Cloud9 service will be important.

The cloud solution seeks to properly segment departments and add future inclusions on the insurance industry.

Agnes Ndirangu, technical manager at the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), said Compulynx’s new solution is vital in that insurance brokers handle 70 per cent of insurance business in the Kenyan market.

IRA had recently engaged a similar cloud technology innovation where agencies and brokers will apply for insurance licenses online from September 2013.

“The use of ICT will migrate the Kenyan insurance sector to a paperless office that experiences delayed operations due of manual systems,” said Ndirangu.
