Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology has established a Working Group to align the ICT sector policy and legislation with the constitution.
The mandate of the Working Group is to develop a draft policy and bill for the implementation of Article 34 of the constitution and to undertake consultative meetings with relevant stakeholders and members of the public on the draft proposals.
In this regard, the Working Group has developed a draft ICT sector policy and a draft Kenya Information and Communications (Amendment) Bill.
The Working Group is scheduled to hold a Stakeholders Consultation Forum on July 9, 2013 at the Kenya Commercial Bank Leadership Centre in Karen to discuss the draft regulatory instruments. The forum will kick off at 9am.
ICT sector members and the public are welcome to attend the forum. Interested members can confirm their attendance through by July 5 at the latest.
