Zimbabwean telecom Econet has expanded the operations of its mobile payment system EcoCash, allowing Harare residents to pay city council bills.
The activation of council bill payments in Harare on Tuesday followed a rollout in Bulawayo a number of months ago.
With more than two million subscribers, EcoCash aims to supply payment services at the convenience of its clients through virtual wallet transactions.
HumanIPO reported yesterday Malawian water bills are now payable through TNM Mpamba mobile money payments.
EcoCash has boosted Econet’s annual revenue, the company revealed earlier this month.
