Kennedy Sakeni, Zambia’s chief government spokesman, has slammed various online publications’ continuous negative reporting on the country.

A report by the Lusaka Times stated Sakeni believes the online reporting on the country is unfair because he believes the government is doing its best to address the various issues troubling the country.

Sakeni believes the Zambian government is also working hard in creating a good image of Zambia to the Zambian people as well as the international community.

He specifically pointed to the Zambian Watchdog, saying the publication makes stories up without facts, which apparently mislead the nation.

Sakeni said he will not waste any more time by responding to online publications which portray Zambia’s government in a negative light.

Sakeni reportedly made these statements following a question on how the Zambian government plans to promote good governance, as well as fighting corruption and promoting freedom of the press.
