Lombard Tyres turns to SAP Business One ERP technology

Lombard Tyres, a leading independent tyre dealer in South Africa, has turned to SAP Business One Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology in a bid to centralise their business management, accounting, reporting processes and stock control.

Until now Lombard had operating 20 branches on separate general ledger systems, but by moving to SAP they are now all on one integrated system.

Sean Kruger, financial manager for Lombard Tyres, said: “We had to install new servers and therefore needed failovers so we conducted considerable research into available ERP solutions and initiated contract with 4most.

“The resulting discussions clearly demonstrated that 4most was the company to take Lombard Tyres to the next level. The solution they presented to us has been very successful to date and we are proud that we decided to go with 4most.”

Furthermore, Kruger said the new solution also included a redesign of Lombard Tyres’ IT platform, which Kruger described as a “daunting challenge.”

The company’s largest challenge was stock in terms of its movement and transfer.

Kruger said one of the key benefits of the SAP Business One solution is the available add-on software. He said Lombard Tyres found the bulking of all email statements with seamless integration into the system particularly useful.

“The impact has been felt by our clients who are realising the added value of improved services. A mailing add-on was developed for us by 4most and this has been beneficial to our business,” said Kruger.
