Members of parliament began vetting the 26 nominees for principal secretary positions in Kenya today, including Joseph Tiampati, put forward for the Ministry of ICT role.

Tiampati is expected to experience a rough time because he had not been shortlisted for final interviews by the Public Service Commission, headed by Margaret Kobia, but was still put forward for the position. Standard Digital reports four nominees are in a similar position.

He also contested the gubernatorial position in Narok County on a Kenya National Congress ticket.

The public will be keen to hear response from Tiampati on the political issues and his appointment by the President.

For efficient vetting, Clerk of National Assembly Justin Bundi has directed it be done between June 17 to Wednesday 19 by 11 parliamentary committee.

The Committee on Energy, Communication and Information has been appointed to vet the ICT Principal nominee.
