DigiCore director Nhlanhla Gasa murdered

Police in Durban, South Africa, have confirmed Nhlanhla Gasa, DigiCore Holdings director, has been found dead in the Tugela River in Kwazulu-Natal, with the death being investigated as a case of murder.

His vehicle, a Jaguar, is said to have been found burnt out near the river after his body was found with several stab wounds.

Several media reports in South Africa have reported the businessman was a known associate of South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma.

Eyewitness News reported police had found blood around Gasa’s home in Umhlanga. Robbery was ruled out by the police as nothing appeared to have been stolen from the businessman’s house.

DigiCore said they will not be commenting at the moment as the matter is under police investigation.

The company released a statement to shareholders stating Gasa had served as a member of the DigiCore board since 2001.

“He was also part of the company’s black empowerment shareholders within DigiCore Fleet Management SA and also served as chairman on the board of Ctrack Mzansi.

“Mr Gasa has made a meaningful contribution to the company during his tenure as a director and will be dearly missed.”
