Supermartng.com’s co-founder Raphael Afaedor has described ease of movement as the major challenge that the Lagos-based online grocery store is dealing with in its operations. He said this while appearing on CNN’s ‘African Start-Up’.

“So we decided to use this to our advantage by carefully mapping out the traffic patterns of certain areas and placing people in these areas to make delivery faster,” he told CNN.

According to him, the company is focusing on relieving Nigerians of the day-to-day hassles of a supermarket visit, including frustrations of traffic and long queues.

His partner, Gbolahan Fagbure added local stores would also benefit from their services.

He said, “Our business also benefits the local store we partner with, by serving as an additional channel that can help them increase their sales without necessarily physically expanding their shop floor or opening more outlets.”

In an exclusive interview with HumanIPO, Afaedor said Supermartng.com delivers groceries within 3 hours.  Since it launched, the platform has expanded and added new towns and areas.

The co-founders are former employees of Jumia Nigeria, they decided to launch Supermartng.com after gathering experience about the ecommerce industry in Nigeria.
