Uche Ofodile announced new GM for Tigo in DRC

Tigo Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has announced the appointment of Uche Ofodile as its new General Manager starting from Wednesday, 1st October.

Until her appointment, Uche was with Vodafone in Ghana where she held a number of senior management positions including the company’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Uche said “I am so delighted to be leading Tigo’s team in DRC.  The country is at a very exciting juncture in its ICT development, and there is great potential for further growth. I was attracted by Tigo’s ambitious digital vision for its consumers.  I am really looking forward to building out the business and its product offering.”

Arthur Bastings, the Executive Vice-President of Millicom, owner of Tigo, described Uche as a qualified for the company’s operations in DRC.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit such an energetic and qualified leader for our business in DRC. She has an impressive record of achievement in the mobile industry and she will take Tigo to the next level. We all look forward to working with her as we are stepping up our investments in the market,” said Bastings.
