General Electric introduces Industrial Internet in Africa with Proficy app

General Electric intelligent platforms has launched the Proficy mobile app,a tool that will play an important role in introducing the relatively new concept of Industrial internet to Africa.

I ndustrial internet basically converts industrial data to actionable information that can be used to improve industry operations, enhance efficiency and boost productivity.

Proficy mobile is an app and web interface connected to a powerful back-end Proficy Application Server that transforms the data into information — delivering RtOI acrossyour organization.  It uses current and proven mobile app and web technologies to empower workers according to their roles and locations — in real time and among these are Right Place, Right Time, Right Decisions. Right Results.

The app is ideal for food and beverage, energy, oil and gas, health, transportation sectors.

While at a media briefing in Kenya, GE intelligent platforms General manager Daniel Coetzee said:”Automation and control, whether it be simple or sophisticated, can offer tremendous benefit to companies in Kenya. The rapid advancements in industrial data collection and storage, predictive analytics and mobility affords Kenyan companies best-in-class solutions that will deliver tangible results.”

The briefing was at a customer event that brought together 60 executives from different companies to learn how to use automation solutions for their businesses.
