Online recharge platform launched in Nigeria

Coremobile has launched Quick Airtime, an online platform for secure airtime recharge, mobile top-up and prepaid re-up in Nigeria, which it said is the fastest and simplest online recharge platform in the world.

“Users can choose between Interswitch, PayPal, Google-Wallet, Verified by Visa and Etranzact. It is important for users to have options, but most importantly we wanted to ensure that every user service delivery protocol resides on a triplex redundancy infrastructure,” Uduak Asuquo, head of research at Coremobile Projects, said.

He said the platform was developed with a target of five seconds.

“It is part of why we built the auto-top-up feature in our mobile apps which automatically loads your phone when your airtime is out,” he said.

“There is competition. Some stores have older stock and are willing to sell at a discount. This explains why buying airtime on www.quickairtime.com is always cheaper than buying on the streets in Nigeria, United States and most of the 120+ countries available on Quick Airtime. I believe everybody, especially international travellers, will enjoy Quick Airtime.”

Utibeabasi Edet, Coremobile Projects president of engineering, said to ensure secured transactions the platform allows payment processors to handle customer card details, thereby ensuring there is zero fraud exposure on Quick Airtime mobile applications.

“Everything on Quick Airtime is carefully engineered and creative excellence is very key. Multiple top-up can load one million phone numbers at once. There is no limit, and it is really hassle free,” he said.

Uzochukwu Nwagbo, Coremobile Group chief financial officer (CFO), said Quick Airtime operates a marketplace business model that allows people on the street selling recharge cards to expand their businesses online.

He said: “It has never been done anywhere in the world. We delivered a special opportunity for micro businesses.”
