SAP Africa partners Techno Brain to address Africa’s skills shortage

SAP Africa has partnered with Kenyan IT firm Techno Brain to address the skills shortage in Africa through the introduction of SAP Education student training kits, e-learning programmes and a hybrid classroom instructor-based teaching model across the content over the next two years.

The inclusion of education and skills in Techno Brain’s expansion is designed to build its own workforce, enable business competitiveness and participation in the African economy and – in alignment with SAP Africa’s objectives – create centres of excellence.

SAP said Techno Brain’s reach and scope into Africa strengthens its partner skills building network on the continent, with Techno Brain present in Ethiopia, Burundi, Mauritius, Lesotho, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

“Our partnership with SAP to drive skills development is of strategic value,” said Manoj Shanker, group chief executive officer (CEO) of Techno Brain.

“Our goals for this project are ambitious. As we grow as an organisation, the need for work-ready people grows too. Our mission is clearly aligned with SAP Africa’s goals to create IT skills and employment for the future in Africa.”

“Our partners in East Africa play a critical role in helping us to create a rich talent pool in Africa for the entire SAP ecosystem,” said Andrew Waititu, managing director (MD) of SAP East Africa. “We see huge business opportunities for our partners in East Africa and recognize that their support is key to our ongoing success.”
