Events mobile application Pocketplan has launched in Johannesburg and the Colombian capital of Bogota following a successful first few weeks in Cape Town.
HumanIPO reported last month on the launch of Pocketplan, available on Android and iOS devices, providing a platform for browsing handpicked events and purchasing tickets, which passed 1,000 users within two weeks of launching and entered the Top 20 Entertainment Apps in South Africa’s app stores.
The app has now made it to second place in the Entertainment category for free apps in Apple’s South African App Store.
“That’s a sweet milestone for an app which is live since five weeks and only available in two cities. The iOS entertainment category especially for free apps is, after Games, the most competitive category of all,” Fabian Kast, chief marketing officer (CMO) at Pocketplan, told HumanIPO.
“After our launch in early March it took two weeks to generate our first 1,000 downloads. Now were adding more than 1,000 downloads in two days. Since last week, we’re now live in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Colombia launched also last week. It will be great to see our country teams competing!”
