CFC Stanbic to launch Android app

Kenya’s CFC Stanbic Bank will launch its mobile app for Android next year, aiming to reduce paperwork and the amount of time required to sign up customers for products and services.

The customer sales app is currently available for Apple tablets running iOS, with plans to achieve a full digital experience and offer customers increased convenience.

All sales consultants will be required to adopt this new technology to replace the current manual processes, which will enable them to sign up more customers in less time.

Adam Jones, head of personnel and business banking at CFC Stanbic, said: “Using tablets as an interface to sign up new customers is already paying dividends.

“The tablet technology is designed in such a way that it helps determine our customer needs and match them to the appropriate products.”

The technology allows for completion of requisite documentation, capturing of customer details including electronic signatures, after which the application forms are automatically converted and emailed for processing with the customer also receiving email copies.

“The application captures electronic signatures of customers, allowing them to sign only once as opposed to signing on multiple sheets in a paper-based environment,” Jones said.

Paul Ndichu, head of e-channels strategy at CFC Stanbic, said: “The most significant advantage of using this application on tablets is mobility and we are now able to deploy customer sales consultants outside of traditional branch environments.”

The application helps the sales consultants to immediately identify the right product to match a customer’s financial needs.
