It is not the first time Mahama has shown that he is “tech savvy”, as in 2011 he used a Samsung Tablet to read his speech at the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) delegates congress.
Mahama was sworn in by Ghana’s Chief Justice, Georgina Wood.
The ceremony is reported to have been an impressive one and was attended by several dignitaries including former Ghanaian Presidents Jerry Rawlings and John Kufuor.
Also in attendance was former United Nation’s Secretary General Kofi Annan, along with hundreds of Ghanaians at Accra’s Independence Square.
Last week Mahama surprised many in the West African country as he delivered his final address in parliament seemingly without the use of notes. It was only as he proceeded that people slowly discovered that he was making use of two monitors and a teleprompter to read his speech.
