Kenya’s top bookseller goes online

Leading and diversified Kenyan bookseller Text Book Center (TCB) has unveiled an online portal to boost its sales ahead of the reopening of schools countrywide.

The company will make available books in more than 14 broad categories to readers across East Africa.

The portal will allow its tech savvy customers to make purchases online via mobile money. Its mobile payment capability is powered through Kopo Kopo, a platform that enables small and medium businesses to accept mobile payments.

TCB will also offer thousands of new ebooks from publishers in Kenya, Africa and around the world through their platform on eBook store eKitabu.

Further to the online store, the bookseller will offer extra shopping hours for the convenience of back-to-school shoppers.

The leisure and educational bookstore was founded in 1964 as a partnership between two Indian businessmen in Kenya only to grow tremendously to become the leading bookstore chain in Kenya.
